Kelliher first prize 1977
This oil painting of Mt. Fyffe, Kaikoura, entitled Sea Sand and Snow, won equal first prize in the last Kelliher Awards competition to be held, in 1977
In 2022 Brian was appointed guest artist and sole judge for the NZ Watercolour Society’s premier event, their Splash exhibition, in Wellington.
In the 2024 Splash exhibition he won the supreme award with a watercolour of Mt. Sefton.
