“Possibly the most challenging of painting disciplines, and the most recent of my own attempts at a bit of “diversification”

First requirement of course, a good likeness, which of course could be achieved with a cheap camera. But a little more difficult to achieve is a “painterly” rendition conveying something of the subject’s character, mood etc.by careful observation and accurate drawing. Not easy.
